Hi! My name is Yaremie Durand (but everyone calls me Yari) and I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida. I graduated from Hodges University with my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health. I have experience working with a wide variety of disorders including depression, anxiety, anger management, perinatal concerns, trauma (including childhood trauma), and post-traumatic stress.
After being a SAHM for almost a decade, I chose to reenter the work force as a clinical mental health counselor because I felt that the world needed more mental health professionals to bring hope to those who may be feeling confusion about their current life situation. Society has not always been accepting of the mental health field, and growing up, I did not get the opportunity to talk about what I felt, but today, as a registered mental health counselor, I want to continue to change the way people see individuals with mental health disabilities by offering my clients the opportunity to share what they feel.
I am passionate about taking an integrated and holistic approach; I believe in seeing the whole person, as well as having a more personal approach. This approach integrates ideas from a variety of theories that promote greater understanding and mindfulness with clients. By focusing on the person and not the symptoms, I have the ability to adjust therapeutic strategies based on my client’s needs.
I strive to empower individuals, who may be struggling to find their place in the world. Whether it be low self-esteem, identity development, anxiety, or depression, I offer a personalized approach to each of my clients; I understand the importance of connection, which includes creating a safe place for you to feel validated and understood. Reaching out to me is the first step in your healing journey.
