Sam Mascis is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Sam has experience working with adolescents and adults. Sam has worked with a wide range of mental health challenges to include, mood disorders, PTSD/trauma, anxiety disorders, life transitions, relationship issues, low self-esteem, self-harming behaviors, grief and loss, women’s issues, and special issues relating to the LGBTQIA+ population.
Sam uses a trauma-informed, psychodynamic approach throughout the therapeutic process, allowing her clients the opportunity to make small changes to combat self-defeating behaviors and negative self-talk while at the same time teaching coping skills to effectively handle the inevitable stressors we face in daily life.
Sam works hard to help clients feel safe and vulnerable to process these stressors in their life. Sam utilizes CBT, DBT and Solution-Focused frameworks, incorporating mindfulness and goal setting to help clients reach their short and long-term goals. Sam values the therapeutic relationship and believes it is one of the most important aspects in helping clients achieve their goals.
