Michael Mueller (they/them or she/her) is a 25-year-old non-binary transfeminine registered mental health counselor intern whose clinical focus thus far has been on existential, experiential, Motivational Interviewing, and feminist theory within the LGBTQIA+ community. 

I have experience working with teens and young adults from all walks of life but specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially members of the transgender community. I have worked with individuals with anxiety and mood disorders, issues related to identity development, PTSD/trauma, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, grief/loss, and life transitions and adjustment concerns. 

I can also provide Hormone Replacement Therapy Informed Consent letters for those seeking it in addition to other areas of clinical concern.

My clinical focus is on existential techniques: what is life, really, and what is it that makes us tick? We humans are fascinating, complicated creatures with fascinating and complicated lives! I use a mixture of gestalt, logotherapy, and feminist-theory empowered techniques to help clients explore the whys and how's of life, no matter how difficult.

When I work with a client, I always start by getting to know them as a person. I emphasize compassion and unconditional positive regard to help my clients explore themselves. I believe that exploration of the self is the true final frontier, and to do so is both to see oneself as greater as well as to gain perspective on the world at large.

When Michael isn't counseling, studying, or prepping for clients, they can be found playing and running dungeons and dragons games with her local group, playing video games, reading their favorite books, or writing short and long-form fiction. A life-long lover of science,
