Krysten Hafner completed her Graduate Student Internship with Hurtado Counseling and is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida. She has completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Hodges University and is practicing under the Supervision of Tyne Hurtado, LMHC, NCC, Q.S. while she works toward full licensure. She has all the knowledge, education, training, etc. to treat her clients with Quality Care!

Prior to her work as a counselor, Krysten graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. For many years she worked as a certified personal trainer and wellness coach, and she has had the privilege of establishing meaningful relationships with clients from a variety of backgrounds and ages. Working with kids and young athletes helped her see how important it is early on to teach not only the kids, but families as well, about the importance of the many factors involved in wellness including mental health and an overall sense of well-being. She believes that one’s physical health and mental health truly go together, and each impacts the other.

Krysten works with children ages 6+, teens, adults, couples, and families. She is a trauma-informed, attachment-based counselor who seeks to integrate theoretical approaches tailored to the individual, family, or couple. Areas of particular focus for her include mood disorders, chronic illness and autoimmunity, ADHD/ neurodiversity affirming, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders and body image. She also focuses on sexuality and interpersonal relationship issues including premarital, marital, divorce, high conflict, and infidelity issues.

Her goal is to incorporate a holistic and integrative approach to counseling and to collaboratively tailor each session to the uniqueness of every individual, couple, and family.
